Hello, I'm Liam

I work as a project manager. I'm a parent, and an expat living in Toronto, Canada.

How It Started

Relocating to Canada wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly became something much bigger.

Relocating to Canada wasn’t part of the long-range plan. As with many expatriate relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But slowly, routines formed. We discovered places that worked for us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.

There was culture shock, ambiguity, and a great deal of hands-on learning. Yet over time routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.

Why I Built Oak Meadow Trail

Most information online was either corporate-level relocation advice or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was honest, day-to-day family perspective.

Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.

This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Canada.

This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.

What This Site Does (And Does Not)

This site offers:

  • Hands-on experience from living in Canada
  • Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site isn't:

  • An official tourism-board resource
  • A sponsored-review platform
  • A generic travel diary

Looking Forward

Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Liam
